applied physics at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">She immersed <span class=\"s1\">herself<\/span> in research on condensed matter physics (especially surface physics).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After working for a manufacturer, she entered the University of Tokyo for her Ph.
